This new Fire Station for Taylorville, Illinois combined with the city’s new siren warning system will make Taylorville one of the most emergency-prepared communities in the state of Illinois. The steel building will boast a brick exterior with a Dryvit finish over the apparatus area doors for accent. A standing seam roof will finish off the facility which has a 17,900 square foot footprint, including a 5,336 square foot basement (which will remain unfinished at the present), a 5,336 square foot second-story living/training area and a 1,380 square foot training mezzanine. The 12-door drive-through apparatus bay totals 11,200 square feet. The whole facility will comprise about 30,000 square feet of usable space.

Mayor Frank Mathon was instrumental in moving Taylorville forward for this exciting project. Evan Lloyd Associates, Inc. of Springfield, Illinois provided the design and architectural services.
